The system I will discuss here is the Shipment Tracking System. It was intended to replace an existing system that had certain problems. I documented the outline of the existing system after spending some time at the customer’s site and meeting with the women in charge of its use.
Please see the System Outline for more details and some background information on the existing system.
The next step was to perform a few fact finding interviews to try and fully understand the workings of the existing system and then produce the requirements for the improved system. Once the requirements where complete they could be confirmed and the costs involved in producing the new system could be estimated. ZF could then be provided with a quotation for the work required. Once they accepted the quotation the project would move on to the next phase.
