Syspro uses a client/server architecture and its business objects are written in COBOL (they where when I left Cranswick but could be .NET based eg. C# now). It runs in a windows or unix environment and can use flat CISAM files as its data store or make use of an SQL database. Initially the only way to access the business logic was to write or modify COBOL programs but as Syspro has evolved (e.net module) it now exposes its business logic to clients via web services or XML and as such .NET is now used as the main development tool.
